A search of district and high court records for civil and criminal cases involving a candidate, covering multiple jurisdictions.
A court record check searches district courts, high courts, and other judicial records for any cases — civil or criminal — in which the candidate has been involved as a defendant, plaintiff, or accused. In India, this check is conducted across the candidate's relevant jurisdictions (current address, permanent address, and previous employment locations).
Court record checks are particularly important for roles in senior management, finance, legal, and compliance — where the existence of fraud cases, commercial disputes, or criminal proceedings would be material to the hiring decision. Many companies run court record checks as a standard part of their C-suite and board-level BGV processes.
